How do I create an account in the time tracking tool?

To create an account, simply click the “Sign Up” button on the homepage. You will then be prompted to enter your email address, create a password, and verify your email. Once confirmed, you can log in and start using the time tracking tool right away. If you prefer, you can also sign in with your Microsoft account for faster access.

Can I use the time tracking tool on multiple devices?

Yes, our time tracking tool is fully synchronized across all your devices. Whether you’re using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, your data is updated in real time. Simply log into your account on any device, and you’ll have access to all recorded times and reports at any moment.

How do I start time tracking?

To track your working time, click the ‘Add time’ button on the homepage. Enter your hours worked, optionally assign them to a project or category, add tags, and include notes if needed for a clear structure.

Is there a limit to the number of jobs I can create?

Fritto offers a free plan for one user – perfect for getting started or for freelancers. There are no limits on projects, tasks, or time entries. You have full access to all features: time tracking, reporting, project assignment, and more. As your team grows, you can upgrade to a paid plan at any time.

What core time tracking features does Fritto include?

Fritto offers a wide range of features: you can track time for activities and projects, log time on behalf of other users, submit entries for approval, and review approved entries. You can also lock time periods to prevent retroactive changes — ensuring you always have full control over your time!

How can I customize reports for my team or department's needs?

The “Report” section includes both individual reports (“My Time Report”) and consolidated reports for all employees or projects (“All Time Report”). You can group data by projects, clients, employees, or time periods and customize displayed columns to get exactly the information you need.

How can I efficiently manage projects and clients?

The “Projects” section centralizes management. Create and organize projects (“Projects”), assign them to clients (“Clients”), add team members, and track progress based on time spent. This ensures budget transparency and resource allocation visibility.

Can I set up access rights for different employee groups?

Yes! Use “Employee Groups” (in the “Company” section) to create groups (e.g., “Managers,” “Developers,” “Finance”). Then, via “User Management” → “Roles,” configure detailed access rights to features (e.g., time approval, viewing all reports, project management) for each role. Assign roles to employees in “Users.”

Is it possible to integrate your app with other systems via API?

Yes, we provide a full REST API for integration. You can automate data transfers for time entries, projects, approved records, and reports to your internal systems. Full documentation with request examples is available in our Swagger UI. The API supports authorization, project management, report exports, and data synchronization.

How to track time using the Jira Plugin?

Stay on top of your time management with Fritto and Jira. Keep your Jira work logs in sync with Fritto time entries and see up-to-date time tracking estimates in Jira.

Remembers Your Project Defaults

Save your Fritto projects preferences for Jira projects and tasks when logging time. The next time you log time in the same project or task, your preferred Fritto project will be pre-selected for you.

Logging time from the Fritto Timer and Work Logs app updates the time spent on your Jira tasks.

 

Steps for Installation

  1. Log into your instance of Jira as an admin.
  2. Select the Apps dropdown menu from top navigation bar, and choose Explore new apps.
  3. Once the screen loads, you can type Fritto Time Tracker in the search bar to find the appropriate app.
  4. Select the app tile and the app details page of the specific app loads.
  5. You can select Try it Free to install the app.
  6. Once the app is installed, you will be notified via a success message. Following which, you can start using the app.

 

(Please note: These steps are only for admins. If you are not an admin, then you have to select ‘Try it Free‘, and then request for the app by selecting ‘Submit request‘)

 

Start tracking in seconds

Once the plugin is installed, tracking time couldn’t be easier:

  • Open any Jira task.

  • Locate the Fritto Time Tracker block right inside the issue.

  • Log your hours — and get back to work.

How to Connect Fritto to Excel?

To export data from Fritto to Excel, you need to create a special access key (API token). Think of it as a digital password that lets Excel “pull” your data.

Follow these three simple steps:

Step 1. Create a Token in Fritto

  1. Click on your avatar (profile) in the top right corner.

  2. Select My account.

  3. Go to the Personal API tokens section.

  4. Click the Add token button.

Step 2. Fill in the Token Details

In the pop-up window, enter:

Field What to Enter
Token name A name, for example: “For Excel”
Expiration date The date until which the token will work. By default, it’s set to +1 year. After this date, access will automatically expire.

Click the Generate button.

Step 3. Copy Your Token

After creation, you’ll see a field with a long secret code — this is your token.

  • The code is hidden by default. Click the “Show” button to reveal it.
  • Click “Copy” to save the token to your clipboard.

 

Important! Close the window only after you’ve copied the token — you won’t be able to see it again later.

 

You’re All Set!

Now you can use this token in Excel (or any other tool) to connect to your Fritto data.

How to Set Up and Use the Fritto MCP Server

Step 1: Generate Your Personal Access Token (PAT)

First, you need a special key to connect securely.

  1. Go to your User account in Fritto.

  2. Click on Personal API Tokens.

  3. Generate a new token and save it immediately — you won’t be able to see it again later.

 

Tip: Give your token a clear name like “MCP Server” so you can recognize it later.

Step 2: Configure the MCP Server

Once you have your token, use it to connect your development environment.

Once connected, you can start using Fritto tools directly from:

  • Claude CLI – ask questions, log time, or check reports.

  • VS Code Agent – track time without leaving your editor.

  • and other agents.
